Outfit of the Week: King of Pop-inspired

Do you still remember Michael Jackson? For some he was “jacko”, but for me he was a music prodigy that left a legacy in the industry. If the King of Pop – as what he is called – were still alive, he’d turn 55 on August 29th. Some of my favorite MJ songs are: You Are Not Alone, The Way You Make Me Feel, Black or White, and Gone Too Soon. Besides his really catchy songs, there’s another thing that make me admire him even more: his style. Don’t get me wrong, but Michael was a fan of anything shiny back in the days. This is why I’m putting up an outfit inspired by him. Come and take a look.

The iconic red leather jacket Michael Jackson wore in Beat It became my starting point for this outfit post. I saw this IRO Han biker jacket ($1,260) that looks stylish enough to resemble that of MJ’s. Whether you want it zipped or unzipped, I suggest you wear this silk camisole ($98) from Equipment just to be sure. Okay, I just realized I sounded a granny. To stand out among the rest, I think you should slip into this flared maxi skirt($1,495) designed by Alexander McQueen. You can’t just wear shorts and pants every single day. I’m 100% sure you’d turn heads in this sophisticated skirt.

Complement the red leather jacket with these Hazel leather and suede ankle boots ($1,295) from Charlotte Olympia for that complete celebrity look. MJ fans know that Michael is fond of wearing gloves that’s why I looked for these Valentino Rockstud leather gloves($495) to show off your inner toughness. Finally, a Michael Jackson-inspired outfit is never complete without a pair of Wayfarer sunglasses($150).

Voila! Time to take photos of your look!

  1. Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to understand a lot approximately this, such as you wrote the e-book in it or something.

I think that you could do with a few percent to power the message house a little
bit, however instead of that, this is wonderful blog.
A great read. I will definitely be back.
